The basic cashew cream is a good place to start, but with these few tips, you will make it extra good 🤤

1. Add an Acidic Ingredient

Cashew Cream is mainly fat and a pinch of salt added during the preparation. Adding an acidic ingredient will help balance the cream and enhance its flavor.

2. Add Spices and Herbs

I love using cashew cream as a blank canvas to infuse with flavors from spices and herbs. Add Indian flavors with curry, turmeric, and cumin for a unique gravy, or create a simple dipping sauce using parsley and thyme.

3. Use a Quality Blender or Strain Your Cream.

A high-quality blender will produce a smoother cream. If the texture is still grainy or your blender isn’t powerful, strain the cream through a fine mesh for a silkier texture.

How to Store Homemade Cashew Cream?

Store cashew cream in the fridge for about a week. For longer storage, freeze it for up to a month.

Ingredients

  • Raw cashews (200 grams will produce a great amount)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Let the cashew soak in water overnight OR Boil your cashew 15 minutes in water.
  2. Drain and rinse the cashews and add them to a blender with a bit of water and salt. Alternatively, you can add unsweetened plant-based milk.
  3. Add any seasoning, spices, herbs, or savory ingredients.
  4. Blend until completely smooth. Eventually add some water to get the texture you want.
